  6. The COVID-19 Pandemic forced us to close our building for Sunday services March 22-June 21.
  7. Despite not being able to gather physically, we shifted and gathered digitally on Facebook for the first time in our churches history.
    1. This had it’s rocky moments, including not being able to go live for one Sunday morning due to technical issues.
  8. Many of our people stepped up to help those in need within our community by doing grocery runs, making masks, helping neighbors, and more.
  9. Deena and Ken Bates and their family came on board to lead us in worship, both digitally and in person.
  10. We did Good Friday, Easter and Communion all digitally.
  11. In the midst of the pandemic our website was hacked. We increased our security so it won’t happen again.

  13. Betty Williams passed away on May 3rd, 2020.
  14. We received a federal grant to help pay for our staffing.
  15. We received a grant to purchase new sound and video equipment. This has allowed us to improve our sound quality and be able to be live in person and digitally for services.
  16. We have had great volunteers step up to learn sound and operate our camera!
  17. We have continued to be a Love Chapel Hot Meal site, and have served twice during this season. Meals have been served to-go style out the pastors window.
  18. Despite all that has happened this year we have continued to stay strong financially.
  19. Offering has currently changed to where we are not passing the offering plate. We placed lock boxes outside our Sanctuary and use digital giving.
  20. We had missionaries to Tanzania, Thom and Sherry Cahill, come and share with us in August.
  21. Since we started back at church on June 28th we have had over 50% pre-covid attendance. This is a great statistic for us, and has not been normal for most churches.
  22. Not only have the majority of our people come back, or stayed present online, for 7 weeks in a row we had a new person gathering with us in person. That is not the same person, but 7 weeks of different people.
